About the Billy Lake Community and Lake Basketball
Since 1992, the Billy Lake ALS Basketball Marathon has brought our community together to celebrate the power of sports, friendship, and giving back. What began as a tribute to Billy Lake has grown into a beloved annual tradition, uniting student-athletes, families, coaches, and supporters in the fight against ALS.
Each year, teams from across the region take the court not only to compete, but to make a difference. Through their participation and the generosity of donors and sponsors, the marathon has raised more than $1.2 million to support ALS research, care services, and scholarships.
The impact of the event extends far beyond basketball. It has helped raise awareness about ALS, provided hope and resources to families facing the disease, and inspired generations of young people to use their talents to serve others. The Billy Lake ALS Basketball Marathon remains a powerful reminder of what a community can accomplish when it comes together around a shared purpose.
